The Nutcracker

Every child should experience the magic of the Nutcracker. The New Jersey Youth Ballet's Nutcracker is fully narrated and abridged, so children and adults of all ages will enjoy it.

The entire family will enjoy this traditional Christmas ballet set in 19th century Europe to a magical score by Tchaikovsky. Dolls and sweets come to life, mice and toy soldiers do battle and snowflakes dance in a beautiful snow covered forest. Furthermore, this Nutcracker is danced almost entirely by children and teens.

The New Jersey Youth Ballet was started with a mission to bring ballet to young people in Central New Jersey and provide performance and training opportunities for aspiring dancers. The dancers in the Nutcracker are from five to eighteen years old and come from all over Central New Jersey. These children perform almost all of the roles in The Nutcracker, including the leads. It is these lively and good-natured young dancers that make The New Jersey Youth Ballet so successful.
